We are pleasED to Announce 2 ScholarSHIP Awards this year.  One for an Etowah Graduating Senior and one for an ATL PlayER.

Matthew Chancellor Glazier was an exceptional student-athlete who graduated with honors from Etowah High School in 2012. In the classroom, Matthew was an academic leader who was selected as a Key Scholar for outstanding achievement on the PSAT. During his years at EHS, Matt was a member of Beta Club.

On the lacrosse field, Matthew was a truly gifted athlete who loved the sport. Matthew played Varsity for Etowah Lacrosse for 4 years. During the 2012 season, Matt was elected co-captain and helped lead the team to a 17-2 record and the State Semi-finals. Matthew was an exceptional leader who took young players under his wing and led them both on and off the field.

Outside of the classroom, Matthew was a talented musician and artist. Matt was actively involved in the TNT Program at Hillside United Methodist. He was an incredible friend to all who knew him. His thoughtfulness went beyond those just in his inner circle. Matthew cared deeply about others, including animals, and never said no if he could be of help.

The Matthew Chancellor Glazier Memorial Scholarship seeks to honor Matt’s memory by promoting integrity, leadership, scholarship, and athletics. This one-time scholarship can be used on college expenses, such as books, activity fees, or tuition and is payable directly to the University or College.  The scholarship’s value will be determined by the current year’s contributions.  Value will be confirmed prior to distribution.
